Technological solutions for information management in the university field. Case study: Private University of Ecuador

Abstract

This article presents a study case of an initial digital transformation of Universidad Private of Ecuador, which demands an approach towards the potential transformation in academic processes. In order to reduce work time and improved performance in administration and high-quality teaching system, the development of an Integrated System and implementation of a digital document manager repository is considered as a proposal of business solutions for the university environment.  Based on the principles of business architecture, a descriptive investigation is carried out by existing needs. It is also supported by field research since the data will be collected directly from where the phenomenon occurs. It was employed RUP development methodology that provides a disciplined solution. As a result, a solution roadmap is described for optimization in the operational management of University. The Integrated System (SI) is designed, which has the purpose of organizing different resources such as web pages, systems, repositories, links and a centralized digital repository and also for loss of information.
