Sound adaptation for podcast platforms of ecuadorian literary works

Abstract

The objective of this study was to establish the theoretical and practical foundations for the sound adaptation of one of the nine anti-legends of the book, Until when, Professor Almeida! - Antileyendas de Quito by the Ecuadorian writer Alejandro Ribadeneira as a pilot program for podcast platforms. The methodology used was qualitative, with a multiple single case study design, where the interview was used as a method, which was applied to professionals with experience in the field of literary, sound and theatrical adaptations. The analysis focused on two main categories; that is, the technical and artistic realization, where more subcategories were extracted such as: the literary adaptation, the script, the actors, voices and characters, the settings, the sound effects, the language, the direction, the editing and the editing, the music, the silences, the voice shots, and the technical equipment needed to produce the podcast. The exercise of adapting literary language to sound language corroborated that, if the aforementioned resources were taken into account for the production of the podcast, the dissemination of Ecuadorian literature through new media could motivate children and young people and strengthen an identity of its own in Ecuador, founded on a permanent literary culture to form critical societies.
